Saturday evening late, Vicki and I came home to an unusually warm house. AC light on, no cool air. It was late, we went to bed thinking I'll handle it after church Sunday. It became clear Sunday there was not going to be any cool air at our house. Why I ask you, is it always on a long holiday weekend, something major decides to take a vacation? Sunday was hot here, and inside the house, it was 95 degrees, even with the fans going. Monday, a bit cooler and an appreciated return phone call from the company who tends to our AC unit bi-yearly. George Haney & Sons owner, Lyman, called from Denver to tell me they had a tech on the way. On a holiday and out-of-town, he calls. The board and fan motor were fried. Tuesday at 5:30, cool air flowed thru the vents at home. It is always the depended-on comforts you miss. Thanks to Ricardo, our tech, who sweated in the attic and Lyman, owner of George Haney & Sons, who went out of his way to take care of us.
